Maple Corner Community Store

The Maple Corner Store and Whammy Bar, are a cornerstone of our wonderful community.  We’re proud to be partnering with the Maple Corner Community Store board in their efforts to raise the funds necessary to purchase the Store and run it as a community owned business.

Please note that a special meeting will be held on Thursday, Dec. 5, beginning at 7 p.m., at the Maple Corner Community Center to consider a proposal that MCCC purchase 20 shares of the Maple Corner Community Store as part of the community-wide effort to buy the store and keep it in business.

The total cost of the investment for MCCC would be $10,000 — a special appropriation not listed in the fiscal 2020 MCCC budget, which was approved earlier this fall. Read more details on this meeting.

The MCCC is proposing supporting this effort in large part due to the widespread support the project has received from the community.  If you haven’t gotten involved, you only have a few more weeks to do so!

There are two ways to contribute.  You can purchase shares directly from the Maple Corner Community Store, or you can make a tax deductible donation to us (Maple Corner Community Center).  Funds we receive earmarked for the store will be held in escrow until the sale goes through, and then will be transferred to the Maple Corner Community Store in exchange for equity shares which would be held in perpetuity by the Community Center.

For general information about the project or to make a pledge to purchase shares, visit http://www.maplecorner.com or email MapleCornerCommunityStore@gmail.com.  For information about making a tax deductible donation, please email MapleCornerCC@gmail.com
